Gulliver's Travels Project

My idea for this project was to create an impression of what I thought Gulliver's travel journal would look like. I used a range of techniques and digitally put them together to illustrate Gulliver's thoughts on trying to comprehend the strange lands he visits. I was interested in creating an old feel so I used old postcards in my images which also carry out the theme of  travel.

For this project I found a completely new style to work with which is much more digital as I layered my prints and and sketches over either a collage or the original photograph. I have often been quite reluctant to use collage but having had several attempts, and realising that they will not always be successful, as well as discovering the work of Katy Leamay has really made this appeal to me much more. I am quite pleased with my three final outcomes, but I much prefer the image that I have posted here because it does not rely on photographs and it's much more organic.
